Athlete Spotlight: Henoc Muamba
He was the first overall pick in the 2011 CFL Draft. Throughout his 12-year professional football career, he mainly played in the CFL and occasionally in the NFL with the Dallas Cowboys and the Indianapolis Colts.
Meet Henoc Muamba, a retired CFL player who has successfully transitioned to life after football. He was the CFL's most outstanding Canadian in 2017 with the Saskatchewan Roughriders. He won a Grey Cup with the Toronto Argonauts in 2022 when he was named the championship MVP and Most Valuable Canadian.
He has accomplished a lot on the football field. However, what he has done outside of football is impressive. Here are some of his accomplishments outside of football:
He is on the board of directors for Because I Love It (BILI), which has an exclusive partnership with the CFLPA.
He was one of the 2023 Top 25 Canadian Immigrant Awards recipients
He is a CFL analyst on TSN and hosts the CFL podcast called "The Waggle."
e is focused on creating the Muamba Foundation, inspired by kids from Congo who have contacted him. He aims to bring football, mentorship, hospitals and schools to his homeland.
He is a cast member for season 2 of "The Traitors," a reality show on CTV
He has a mentorship program called Eagle Vision, designed as a way for him to give back to the community.
