Athlete Spotlight: Lirim Harjrullahu
He is a two-time Grey Cup champion and a three-time CFL East Division All-Star. As a professional kicker, he has played in both the CFL and NFL, with his most recent team being the Toronto Argonauts.
Meet Lirim Harjrullahu. He made history in 2017 by kicking the game-winning field goal to secure his first Grey Cup victory with the Toronto Argonauts in the 105th Grey Cup. Recently, he won his second Grey Cup title with the Argonauts, defeating the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the 111th Grey Cup.
Lirim has achieved remarkable success in football, but his accomplishments off the field are even more impressive. Here are some of his notable achievements:
He attended the University of Western Ontario School of Kinesiology, receiving his bachelor's degree in sports management and master's in management and leadership.
He received his MBA at Niagara University in Ontario.
He is on the board of directors for Parachute, an injury prevention organization dedicated to reducing severe and fatal injuries through education, advocacy and evidence-informed solutions.
He currently holds a role at Richter as a Business Development Lead.
Lirim received scholarship offers across Canada but ultimately chose the University of Western - Ontario. While football opened many doors for him, he remained dedicated to academics and prepared for a career beyond the sport.
