Chris Osei-Kusi Says Farewell to Football

After 13 years of playing football, I’m officially closing this chapter. I lived out my childhood dream, pouring everything I had into the game I loved. Football was my passion, and it gave me memories, friendships, and lessons that will stay with me for a lifetime.

While striving to reach the top in football, I was also building something else—transferable skills that would prepare me for life beyond the game. The discipline, teamwork, resilience, and leadership I developed along the way became the foundation for my next chapter..

The transition to life after sports is never easy, but the skills I built during my playing days made it possible. Football taught me how to embrace challenges, prepare for the unknown, and keep pushing forward—lessons that now guide me in my professional life.

To my fellow athletes: You’re building more than a career in sports. Every practice, every game, and every challenge is preparing you for what’s next. Embrace the rookie moments—they’re where growth happens. And remember: the skills you gain on the field can take you to a place you would have never imagined.

To my family, friends, teammates, and coaches: thank you for believing in me, pushing me, and standing by me through every high and low. Every good luck text, message, or word of encouragement meant the world to me, and I’ll never forget it. Your support allowed  me to give my all to football and made the transition to life after the game so much smoother.

This is the end of one incredible chapter but the beginning of another. Football gave me so many keys to unlock life’s doors. The secret to life after football is to keep giving yourself more keys, and I’m excited to see what doors I’ll open next. Thank you, football, for everything.

Here’s to what’s next!
